ERC Starting Grant to Monica Frega!

From the single neuron to the brain, to better predict treatment response in epilepsy.

Monica Frega, Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Genoa, has been awarded a €1.5 million ERC Starting Grant to develop the Neuron2Brain project over the next five years.

The research will bring together biological twins, generated from human stem cells, and digital twins, personalized computational models, with the aim of bridging the gap between what we observe in the laboratory and what happens in the brain of each individual patient.

An important scientific achievement, but also a personal story:

💬 “You don’t have to choose between ambitious research and a fulfilling personal life.”
